The second program of the Rencontres Musicales highlights Swiss music, featuring chamber works by Paul Juon, Hans Huber, and Richard Flury. Despite its richness, Swiss musical repertoire remains largely unknown today.
The first two composers had strong ties to the European music scene: Paul Juon, born in Russia to a Swiss family, incorporated many elements of Russian musical tradition into his work. Hans Huber, a great admirer of Johannes Brahms, was deeply influenced by his music and even had the opportunity to meet the German composer personally during his studies in Leipzig.
Richard Flury, on the other hand, was primarily active in Switzerland and strongly rooted in the late Romantic tradition. However, he continuously sought new ideas within tonality, guided by an innate musical sensibility.

NADEZHDA KORSAKOVA is a violinist at the Zurich Opera House. Born in St. Petersburg, Russia, she studied with renowned teachers such as Prof. Lev Ivaschenko, Prof. Irina Bochkova, and Prof. Zakhar Bron. She has won numerous prizes at international competitions, including the Prague Spring Competition (2003) and the D. Oistrakh International Violin Competition (2004) in Odessa. Her career has led to performances at major festivals such as the Verbier Festival, the Santander Music Festival, and the Orford Music Festival.
The cellist VALENTINA DUBROVINA and the pianist SILVIA CARLIN met in Basel ten years ago while studying at the Hochschule für Musik. Their shared passion for rare and overlooked music led them to found the REVISION Project. Through a thoughtfully curated repertoire and refined interpretations, they shape the identity of the project and embody its high musical standards.
Both are award winners of renowned international competitions and have established their musical careers in Switzerland and Europe.
Valentina performs as a soloist, in chamber ensembles, and with her clarinet trio, the Varga Trio, while also playing in various orchestras.
Silvia teaches piano at the Musik-Akademie Basel and performs in concerts across Switzerland and Europe.
