The ensemble TriOlogie dedicates its program to a genre that is relatively rare in today’s concert life, yet particularly fascinating: the string trio.

At the heart of the evening are three works that vividly illuminate the stylistic and sonic richness of this formation.

Ludwig van Beethoven’s String Trio in D major, Op. 9 No. 2 represents the classical mastery of the genre, distinguished by formal clarity, Viennese elegance, and a dense, almost symphonic texture. In contrast, Adolphe Blanc’s String Trio No. 1, Op. 25 introduces a rarely performed French composer whose music captivates with its elegance, melodic freshness, and finely balanced interplay of voices. A particularly remarkable discovery is Jean Cras’s String Trio: the French naval officer and composer created a work of great atmospheric depth, combining impressionistic colors with late-Romantic harmony.

The members of the TriOlogie String Trio met in 2019 during their Master’s studies at the Lucerne School of Music and immediately connected through a shared musical understanding. What began as a trio quickly developed into a vibrant ensemble, as the musicians immersed themselves in the captivating repertoire for string trio. They enrich their programs through the discovery and interpretation of lesser-known works by both female and male composers.

TriOlogie String Trio has performed extensively in Switzerland, Germany, and Denmark, including collaborations with Schauspielhaus Zürich and the Mondrian Ensemble. The trio has been mentored by Christian Poltéra, Isabel Charisius, and Isabelle van Keulen. In October 2024, their debut CD A Tres Voces was released by the renowned Swiss label Prospero Classical in cooperation with SRF (Swiss Radio and Television). Their recordings have been broadcast and praised by WDR (Germany), SRF (Switzerland), and NPO Klassiek (Netherlands).

With intuition, passion, and lightness, these energetic musicians bring both classical masterpieces and lesser-known works of the string trio repertoire to life. TriOlogie String Trio captivates audiences with a wide palette of nuanced sound colours and impresses with technical precision. The equality of the instruments and the soloistic demands of the string trio genre merge in their playing with emotional depth and infectious joy. In concert, the ensemble presents the music with both intensity and a contemporary spirit. Known for their compelling performances, this virtuosic chamber ensemble sees itself as a modern interpreter of classical music for today’s audiences.
